The Legal Department of JPMorgan is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us in supporting the U.S. Private Bank’s mortgage business.

About the Private Bank and Mortgage Advisory: With more than 160 years of experience, J.P. Morgan Private Bank is a global wealth management leader that delivers the highest quality advice, service, capabilities and products to high net worth individuals and families around the world. We deliver highly customized and comprehensive solutions to help clients with the many complexities they face on their balance sheets by leveraging the Private Bank’s products and solutions. The Private Bank is involved with every facet of wealth management, including investments, liquidity and credit management, and tax and estate planning. Private Bank Mortgage Advisory provides residential and investment property mortgage solutions to high net worth clients.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Provide legal advice and support to the Private Bank’s Mortgage Advisory business with respect to all stages of residential and investment property mortgage lending.

· Coverage includes first mortgage loans, construction loans, HELOCs and HELOANs; property types include residential, condominiums and co-operatives.

· Advise on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues related to products, vendors and clients.

· Work closely with business and control partners (e.g., Compliance, Risk) to help respond to regulatory exams and inquiries.

· Coordinate with other lawyers supporting the Private Bank, and lawyers from other divisions of J.P. Morgan, including the Chase Mortgage Bank.

· Engage and supervise external counsel as needed.

· Supervise one or more documentation specialists supporting the Mortgage Advisory business.

Qualifications

· JD Degree.

· Minimum 7 years of relevant law firm or in-house experience related to real estate business.

· Knowledge of wealth management business a plus.

· Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Working understanding of bank products and financial services.

· Ability to be a dynamic member of a team.
