Job Description
The Assistant General Counsel will support the Banks Regulatory/Vendor Management senior attorney and Corporate Governance team. Knowledge of contract law and interest in corporate governance are required. In this position, the Assistant General Counsel will report to the Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel responsible for, among other things, reviewing and negotiating Bank contracts. In this role, the Assistant General Counsel will not only work closely with vendors and Bank stakeholders but will also work within the Corporate Governance team preparing agendas, consents, resolutions and minutes for the Bank and subsidiaries Boards and Committees. It is expected that this Assistant General Counsel will identify and analyze legal issues, draft key documents and present clear recommendations.

Qualifications
Law degree from an ABA accredited institution and admitted to the New York bar,
5-7 years of experience as an attorney, with a preference for banking and financial services experience, and experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of contract law
- Analytical ability and strong attention to detail
- Strong project and time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and drafting skills
- Accomplished contracts negotiator
- Experience in drafting a variety of legal documents
- Experience in a corporate secretarial role, particularly at a financial services institution, is a plus
- Flexible and adaptable to any situation
- Adept at multi-tasking and working under deadline
Compensation
The expected annual salary for this position is between $205,000 and $225,000 at the start of employment. A salary offer is determined on an individualized basis, taking into consideration factors such as an individuals skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, employee wellness program, retirement and savings plans with employer contributions, generous holiday and paid time off schedules, parental leave, and tuition reimbursement.
