We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Sr Counsel Environmental within our Legal Team based in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate should be able to: - Independently manage the legal aspects of OXY environmental investigation, remediation and O&M matters, with and without outside counsel, in support of GSHs project management teams. - Negotiate state and federal administrative and judicial orders, voluntary agreements and permits. - Analyze, negotiate and manage state and federal cost recovery, contribution actions and NRD claims, as well as pursue or defend contractual indemnity matters. - Advise project teams on strategies to optimize existing and proposed contractual agreements and regulatory obligations. - Skillfully draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements with agencies, landowners, consultants and other stakeholders. - Handle legal aspects of PRP Group sites, including investigation of OXY corporate and operational history and potential liability; investigation of other PRP involvement; negotiation and management of large and small PRP Group activities, including other PRP liability, settlements and agency agreements and orders; work with Glenn Springs technical team on site investigations and remedies. - Research and resolve environmental remediation claims. - Provide strategic and drafting advice concerning indemnity provisions and insurance requirements in a variety of contracts. - Assist with property access, due diligence, acquisitions and divestitures. - Communicate effectively, and on a timely basis, with regulators, technical consultants, community partners, senior management and co-workers. - Work independently, while also thriving in a team-based environment; know when to seek assistance. - Provide support to GSH General Counsel and GSH management team. - Liaise with OXY litigation counsel on environmental disputes.
