Your Contribution:

  • Provide strategic legal counsel to internal stakeholders with respect to Federal and state healthcare and consumer privacy regulations and laws.
  • Proactively advise the business on a wide variety of compliance matters and work collaboratively with legal and compliance team on matters related to privacy legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Identifying business and legal risks and provide solutions which balance legal issues and business objectives.
  • Consult with and manage outside counsel on major contract or commercial matters and provide oversight on privacy/compliance matters.
  • Provide reasonable and appropriate advice and counsel on risks, potential legal liabilities and providing frequent status updates, as well as anticipating and responding to or escalating legal issues that could impact the company.
  • Provide training to company personnel on legal and privacy issues as assigned.
  • Support compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and advice company of relevant changes in law, policy or guidance in health care and technology industries.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues in the legal department, business teams, support functions, executive team and outside counsel.


Your Qualification:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • 3+ years legal experience required, focusing on privacy/security law and compliance; must have familiarity with HIPAA and Business Associate Agreements, 21st Century CURES Act, and/or multi-state privacy acts.
  • Currently licensed to practice law and in good standing in one or more U.S. states, qualified for admission to Texas bar strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in at least one of the following a) in-house counsel, b) attorney for mid to large size firm in technology or health care department, or c) prior experience working directly for health care software provider, health care provider, clearinghouse or insurer.
  • Working experience in health care markets strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft business programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Available to travel up to10% of the time
