Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
Under limited supervision of the Faculty Director of the Veterans Legal Clinic, the VLC Staff Attorney handles legal representation, including litigation and administrative claims processes, for VLC client cases and other clinic legal matters by providing legal services to VLC clients, while collaborating with clinic faculty, paralegals, staff and students.
Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree and 2 years related legal experience. Must be a member in good standing of the South Carolina Bar.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent writing and verbal communications skills.
Proven extensive legal experience in veterans benefits claims or other public benefits appeals and related areas.
Ability to collaborate with law school faculty, staff and students.
Ability to work for and with veterans in need who will be requesting clinical assistance.
