ROLE OVERVIEW

The Associate Counsel will support the growth of Fashion Nova in an entrepreneurial yet
compliant manner. Our anticipated expansion needs an Associate Counsel to work closely with
our General Counsel primarily on compliance matters, as well as litigation oversight support
and contract review in a complex and fast-moving environment that offers growth
opportunities for a mid to senior-level lawyer. The person in this position will expand their skill
set to round out their career as an in-house counsel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Companys General Counsel on compliance and risk
    mitigation, with an emphasis on wage and hour and other employment laws,
    consumer laws, and data privacy laws
  • Assist in the management of outside counsel on litigation matters, primarily be
    performing legal and factual research as needed
  • Draft and negotiate general commercial contracts most relevant to our business,
    including tech agreements, vendor agreements, and intellectual property contracts
  • Handle the Companys day-to-day legal needs as they arise
  • Perform selected assignments and other responsibilities as assigned by the
    Companys General Counsel

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of eight years of experience as an attorney, with a substantial experience
    in wage and hour laws and other employment matters, with at least three years of
    that time spent at a reputable law firm
  • In house experience a plus
  • Experience with data privacy, consumer class actions, and intellectual property are
    also a plus
  • Demonstrated strong legal researcher and writer a must
  • Juris doctorate degree from a top-tier law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of California or qualifies as a Registered In-House Counsel under Californias State Bar Rules
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues can understand
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work effectively with senior management
  • Superior interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Exceptional communication & presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • English, additional language(s) an advantage
  • Schedule of this position: Monday Friday | Core business hours | Onsite
