The role

Busbud is looking for a highly motivated Director, Legal for the overall Busbud Group to join our growing team. This individual will work closely with our leadership team to support Busbuds mergers & acquisitions, fundraising, and compliance with laws and regulations.

What you can expect from the opportunity

• Direct 3rd party legal firms to support M&A and financing initiatives;
• Provide legal advisory on corporate governance, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and other business transactions;
• Identify and mitigate legal and operational risk;
• Ensure the organization complies with applicable laws and regulations;
• Design legal frameworks to support the organizations objectives and growth;
• Partner with third party international legal counsel to ensure compliance and best practises in foreign jurisdictions;
• Partner with internal stakeholders and provide legal support and advisory as required;
• Review, draft, and negotiate various legal documentation;
• Other related ad hoc tasks as required.

How you can impress us

• Proven experience in working in an international, complex, and fast moving environment (managing international counsel is a plus)
• 5+ years of corporate law experience, ideally in both private practise and industry
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, and / or venture capital financing
• Legal experience in Quebec is a plus
• Ideally legal experience with technology companies and intellectual property
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency
• English proficiency (Spanish language skills considered an asset)
