Legal Counsel, Pharmaceutical

Reporting to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, the Legal Counsel Director will provide legal support for Catalysts existing product franchises as well as potential additions to the product portfolio. The primary focus for the Legal Director will be to oversee the contracting, development and approval of promotional and information material to support the product, marketing and medical exchange activities and other support of the product to ensure legal and regulatory alignment. In addition, the Legal Director will provide additional support for corporate activities such as mergers and acquisition, securities compliance, and other traditional legal functions based on need and experience.

This is a remote home-based role with travel to the home office.

Responsibilities

• Primary, direct legal counsel supporting activities related to one or more specific product franchises for the commercial, medical affairs, regulatory, and corporate communications functions.
• Participate as Legal representative in periodic strategy and planning meetings for the product(s).
• Responsible for review, execution oversight and archiving of contracts and agreements related to assigned product franchises.
• Participate in all Legal, Medical, and Regulatory review sessions for reviewing and approving for use all promotional and information materials to support the product(s).
• Lead Legal contact for review/assessment of all proposed marketing and sales activities to support the product and to assist in the identification and mitigation of any legal or compliance risks, including documentation of the same.
• Provide training to teams supporting the product(s) with a focus on mitigation or elimination of identified compliance risks in activities supporting the product(s).
• Based on need and experience, provide additional support for other corporate activities including contracting, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, SEC disclosure review, Press Release review, and internal investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree and Juris Doctor from a U.S. accredited law school
• Bar Admission in at least one state and able to qualify, if needed, as Florida Corporate Counsel
• 8+ years as a practicing attorney with at least 3 years supporting the Commercial and/or Regulatory or Medical functions of a life sciences company and/or pharmaceutical manufacturer, either in-house or at a firm providing legal support to life sciences/pharmaceutical clients in these functions.
• Strong preference for experience working with/in both pre-commercial and commercial growth phase biotech company
• Familiarity and experience with promotional review for regulatory compliance
• Preference for attorney with experience supporting a pharma brand product directly

• Preference for experience with acquisitions and integrations
• Verifiable proficiency using MS Office applications, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, as well as Internet and Outlook required.

Additional Expectations (Travel & Working Hours)

• Periodic travel to the Catalyst HQ in Coral Gables, FL, is required. Occasional business travel may be required.
• Ability to work extended hours, to include evenings, weekends, and potentially holidays is required. This position requires regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders as a Legal Representative of Catalyst. Professional, ethical, and compliant comportment is imperative at all times.
