Salary:
KCERA Deputy Chief Legal Officer: $5,142.62 - $6,145.91, paid bi-weekly
KCERA Senior Deputy Chief Legal Officer: $5,972.63 - $7,137.85, paid bi-weekly

Examinations:
Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any of the following: Investigation, oral exam and/or rating of the application.

Should an oral examination be necessary, the oral examination will be weighted at 100%.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.

Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards:
KCERA Deputy Chief Legal Officer
  • Possession of a juris doctorate degree from an accredited U.S. law school or equivalent qualification.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience as an attorney.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Licensed to appear before relevant Federal and State Courts in California.
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Class C Driver's License.

KCERA Senior Deputy Chief Legal Officer:
  • Possession of a juris doctorate degree from an accredited U.S. law school or equivalent qualification.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience as an attorney, preferably with a public pension agency.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • Licensed to appear before relevant Federal and State Courts in California.
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Class C Driver's License.

Following an offer of employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.

This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
