Senior Trial Attorney

This is an excellent in-house opportunity to be part of a successful real estate company located in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, with a footprint in the Southwest. The selected candidate will be the Legal Departments first-chair trial lawyer, responsible for spearheading the litigation docket. Cases typically consist of personal injury, business, and habitability matters. The business cases are 50/50 plaintiff/defense.

The position offers a regular workweek, medical benefits, and no billable hour requirement. This is an exceptional long-term opportunity for a resolute professional.

Responsibilities

• First chair trial lawyer to leading a team of professionals.

• Engage in pre-litigation dispute resolution efforts.

• Draft pleadings, write motion, take depositions and other related documents.

• Negotiate settlements and mediate disputes.

• Conduct legal research and analysis to develop appropriate strategies for cases.

• Assist with supervising and mentoring other in-house attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants.

Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience with an insurance defense or eviction prosecution background

• 10+ years of experience as first chair jury trials preferred.

• Member in good standing of the California Bar.

• Combination of law firm and in-house experience a plus.

• Computer literacy with a Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook)

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
