This role is based in NYC and is HYBRID (3 days a week in the office)

The Counsel for Marketing will help support a business of approximately $9 billion in revenue and 50,000 employees world-wide, serving as a critical business partner and trusted advisor to our Marketing and Advertising Teams.

As our Counsel you get to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, client-facing environment and will have the opportunity to partner closely with colleagues and partner collaboratively with the rest of the legal team and give clear and concise advice. You will ideally have experience in drafting and negotiating marketing, advertising, sponsorship and other agreements, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong judgment, comfortable with technology and an eagerness to learn about our evolving company.



Responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft marketing and advertising agreements, such as marketing event agreements, sweepstakes, advertising agency agreements, talent agreements, sponsorships, influencer agreements, endorsements, promotions, trademark agreements, licensing agreements and data processing agreements.
• Negotiate and draft digital marketing, adtech, and social media agreements.
• Develop efficient contracting processes, including templates, playbooks, and training materials.
• Advise business regarding legal and regulatory changes.
• Advise senior executives to influence decision making.
• Advise on marketing and advertising law.


Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership.
  • Minimum of 5 years of complex legal experience in a law firm or in-house.
  • A practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving candidate must be able to effectively counsel internal clients by providing them with clear, concise, and pragmatic advice, and creative solutions where necessary, on established timelines to meet their business needs.
  • Able to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively with other members of the Legal Department and with internal clients.

Benefits

The annual base salary range is $170000 - $200000 /year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
