Job Description

As Brambles continues to shape a data-driven, smarter and more sustainable future connecting people with lifes essentials and changing the way businesses move and sell goods in every corner of the world.

We are searching for an exceptional Legal Counsel to support Brambles Digital, the global function centric to Brambles evolution to a to data solutions led organisation and overseeing many of the key growth initiatives that support Brambles future success.

The purpose of this position is to provide a full range of legal services to the Brambles Digital team on a wide range of digital technology initiatives and projects, with a focus on B2B engagement and delivery, IoT and edge technology, advanced analytics, AI, data governance and cybersecurity. In addition, they will provide advice regarding digital/digitized platforms and ensure a solid understanding of how the law is developing to regulate those platforms whilst practicing the versatility to advise across a broad range of commercial workstreams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the business in understanding and complying with legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the implementation of digital projects and objectives, with the support of Legal, Compliance and Government Affairs team colleagues and external advisors where required.
  • Working with local and international stakeholders and other cross-functional support teams to deliver digital projects against aggressive timeframes, setting appropriate priorities and managing legal risk and compliance issues, including the certification of tracking devices and use of their components in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements for the supply of products and services, including cloud-based services and solutions, data sharing and online user agreements and licenses.
  • Contributing to the monetization of digital initiatives through the development of terms and conditions applicable to customers and other business partners.
  • Training of other teams to use precedent documents and guidance and legal matters such as competition law compliance or the operation of legal professional privilege.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Completed bachelors degree and qualification from an accredited law school 5+ years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in platform liability, intellectual property, regulatory and compliance schemes relating to digital platforms, customer/third party agreements and procurement agreements.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing commercial contracts with digital technology and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Knowledge of European/U.S. and international laws, including cross-border trading laws, as they apply to digital products and services
