General Counsel and Secretary

Overview: Reporting to Baylor Genetics Chief Executive Officer/President, the General Counsel and Secretary (GC) will be the Companys top legal executive and serve as a valued member of the Companys executive team. The GC will provide senior management and the board of directors with effective legal counsel on company strategies and their implementation, lead the legal and compliance functions and teams, and assess and manage risk throughout the organization.

Group Holdings, Inc. and Baylor College of Medicine, including the #1 NIH-funded Department of Molecular and Human Genetics. Located in Houstons Texas Medical Center, Baylor Genetics serves clients in 50 states and 16 countries.

Experience: The successful candidate will have at least fifteen years of corporate and transactional legal experience representing healthcare, life science, and/or diagnostic industry clients, ideally in both private practice and in-house roles. Prior experience in a General Counsel or senior legal role working closely with and advising public company executive teams and boards on governance/securities and crossover financing matters is required. Experience with IPO/private placement matters and guiding a company as it evolves from a private to a publicly traded company is strongly preferred.

Location: This role is fully remote with periodic travel (at least quarterly) to Baylor Genetics headquarters in Houston, TX. This is a national search.
