Job Role Summary

This position is responsible for providing legal advice on a variety of matters, with primary focus on advising the Health & Hospital Corporation (HHC or Corporation) on long term care legal issues. The position will work as a member of a legal team and provide legal advice to all HHC divisions.

Associated Job Duties

  • Provide legal advice on long term care legal issues.
  • Serve as primary legal contact for HHCs long term care management contractor.
  • Draft and review contracts, leases, and other legal documents related to long term care.
  • Assist in the preparation of long term care applications, certifications, updates, and revalidations.
  • Serve as liaison with 3rd Party claims administrator, including review of litigation matters and consultation on review of claims and disposition strategy for litigation.
  • Monitor legal compliance for HHCs captive insurance agency, including compliance with captive regulators.
  • Attend meetings of HHCs Long Term Care Committee and, if requested, provide legal review of materials distributed.
  • Provide advice and counsel to all divisions of the Corporation, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Jurisprudence
  • At least 2 years of healthcare regulatory experience
  • Experience in healthcare long term care and skilled nursing facilities laws and regulations and/or litigation, preferred.

Licenses/Certifications Required

License to practice law in Indiana

Working Environment

Hybrid office environment.
