Description:

The Assistant General Counsel is responsible for handling a broad range of legal issues as assigned by and under the direction of the General Counsel. The Assistant General Counsel will provide direct, ongoing support to the General Counsel. The incumbent will have the authority to perform day-to-day operations while ensuring the appropriate supervisor(s)/senior leadership stay abreast of issues.

Essential Duties of the Position

  • Assist General Counsel in all areas as needed
  • Contract drafting, review, analysis, and interpretation
  • Employment and labor matters
  • Interpretation, analysis, and application of regulations and statutes including the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement, Code of Federal Regulations, and United States Code
  • International issues including, but not limited to, guidance on international entity set-up and maintenance and export compliance
  • Litigation assistance and coordination with outside counsel
  • Compliance issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Must have a Juris Doctor and 0-5 years relevant experience, prior business experience or education is preferred. Current law students in their final year of law school will be considered for this position.

Must have the ability to apply knowledge and skills and confer with General Counsel and Senior Management to develop and execute solutions. Must be proficient in basic computer usage, including internet research, Outlook e-mail and Microsoft Office.
