Base Pay range: Min: $139,375 - Mid: $174,219 plus 20% retention bonus

We are seeking an energetic and engaged Senior Corporate Counsel to contribute to our in-house legal team and work on complex healthcare issues in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is part of the Service Line and Corporate team within the Legal Department and provides strategic and tactical legal guidance related to our Service Line business partners on a wide variety of health care operational and contracting matters. This position would partner with our Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Medicine Service Line and will report to the Associate General Counsel and will be part of an active and collaborative team of attorneys and legal support staff. Ideal candidates will have working knowledge of fraud and abuse laws including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, HIPAA and the federal beneficiary inducement statute.

RESPONSIBILITIES

These are your responsibilities :

  • Prepare, revise, and negotiate various contracts with our facility partners, including professional services agreements, settlement agreements, and other business agreements.
  • Manage a high contracting volume autonomously, including multiple and varied operational projects.
  • Provide strategic and tactical legal guidance on operations and regulatory matters and must have working knowledge of fraud and abuse laws including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, etc.
  • Ensure all company activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations, including HIPAA and the federal beneficiary inducement statute.
  • Remain informed of industry-specific regulations and ensure that appropriate risk management strategies are in place.
  • Participate in the business strategy and negotiation of various business contracts and operational matters.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Read and abide by the companys code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures and other corporate mandates, including participation in mandatory training programs.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the companys corporate compliance program, policies and procedures by exhibiting the company values and acting in accordance with any reporting policies of the company.

Education/Experience

  • Licensed attorney holding a J.D. from a top-tier law school with a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
