Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with customers.

  • Development of customer-centric solutions to ensure both legal compliance is achieved and internal and external customer needs are satisfied.

  • Supporting business operations and providing direction and counsel regarding compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and staying abreast of laws, legislative developments and developing external trends.

Strategic Planning:

  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges.

  • Recommends process, product or service improvements.

  • Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.

  • Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.

  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy.

  • Makes decisions within functional, business unit, company or industry guidelines.

  • Develops innovative new concepts, services, technologies or products to address current and future customer requirements.

  • Operates with limited supervision in a complex environment.

Customer Focus:

  • Anticipates customer needs to influence the development of innovative solutions.

  • Communicates highly complex ideas to multiple organizational levels

  • Works effectively across the organization to create broad acceptance for ideas/initiatives

Experience:

  • 6+ years experience prior inhouse counsel experience required.

  • Current member of the bar or able to be admitted to the inhouse counsel bar.

  • Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of agreements, including customer terms relating to services, data and information technology.

  • Labor and employment law experience as well as privacy and data protection experience is a plus.

Knowledge & Skill:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships and work with cross-functional teams

  • Detail-orientation and ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure

  • Ability to deliver in a demanding and entrepreneurial environment in a timely manner.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate degree (or equivalent) from an ABA accredited law school

  • Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one State

The salary range for this position in is $130K-$175K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
