Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

This executive will be the senior attorney for Synchrony in sourcing and procurement activities. You will be responsible for all legal aspects of our sourcing and procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, mitigating risks, and optimizing efficiency across our operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Development of strategy related to comprehensive legal support of Synchrony Procurement organization.
  • Structuring and negotiation of master services agreements, software licenses, IT outsourcing transactions, procurement of data center hardware, SAAS, cloud, consulting services agreements, artificial intelligence, analytics, intellectual property arrangements and other similar commercial transactions and associated ancillary agreements.
  • Support of the creation of Request for Proposals and review of responses thereto for IT outsourcing transactions, negotiation of the applicable contracts and provision of ongoing legal support of final deals.
  • Review and analysis of relevant financial institution regulations applicable to outsourcing arrangements, including those promulgated by the Fed, OCC and the CFPB.
  • Support SVP, Chief Privacy Officer & Cyber Security Counsel on legal issues relating to business IT strategy.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree, Juris Doctorate (JD) and at least 10 years of experience in financial services-related practice of a major law firm and/or in-house at a Fortune 500 organization
  • Highly effective negotiation, communication and drafting skills, with a focus on interaction with senior managers, executives, directors and underwriters
  • Demonstrated experience requiring strong judgment in questions on disclosure and deal execution, and ability to understand and balance legal and business considerations
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple complex matters and projects across competing priorities and to drive projects to completion

Grade/Level: 15

The salary range for this position is 200,000.00 - 330,000.00 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 25% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 25% of salary.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you dont meet the time in position or performance expectations).
