SEL is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney to join our legal team. The attorney in this position will interface with every department in the company to manage a broad and varied portfolio of legal issues spanning multiple international jurisdictions. Duties will include leading and supporting contract negotiation processes, working on general corporate matters, and ensuring compliance with international/regional/local laws. We are looking for a critical thinker who can develop and implement solutions, appropriately analyze and manage risks, multitask, and communicate well. Most importantly, we seek a team member who is willing to integrate into every aspect of the company from research to business execution.

As a Contracts Attorney a typical day might include the following:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate business contracts to support business objectives and policies of the company. Business contracts involve a variety of subject matter, including utility, industrial, commercial, real estate, and government contracting.

  • Lead and collaborate throughout contracting processes by analyzing significant business, financial and legal risks; and develop and communicate creative solutions and mitigation strategies for key negotiation points.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships internally and externally to drive strong, time-sensitive results.

  • Collaborate with the internal Contracts department and internal team leaders to understand contract needs for sales and purchases.

  • Train internal client groups, promoting legal compliance and educating personnel on implications of risks on various functions within the company.

  • Provide legal advice, risk assessment, and assistance with general corporate matters.

This job might be for you if:

  • You have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited school of law

  • You are a member in good standing with the State of Washington bar (or, if practicing in a foreign jurisdiction, properly admitted and in good standing in such jurisdiction)

  • 2+ years' experience practicing law

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in required areas of law such as corporate, international, employment, contracts, and intellectual property

Pay Range Data

Pay range for this position is between $100,300 - $167,300. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
